I heard about neocities from pagemelt on youtube
AI slop. I just spent a week with my family and I had 3 separate conversations about how they use ai everyday for some nonsense. I feel like the world is going down a path that I feel incompatible with. This has made me wonder lately how the amish felt when they decided to slow down their tech use a few hundred years ago. I don't know much, but it's my understanding that they limited tech to prevent harm to their community, and I GET THAT!
I am currently working on a campaign that is set in a roger-rabbit style quasi-toon world, where the only inhabitants are cartoons and muppets. Politically and Religiously things are mostly split along franchise lines, so disney stuff is in disney country and similar. Cartoons being effectively immortal makes gameplay tricky, but my plan is to replace mortality with relevancy. Toons and muppets need to maintain relevancy by performance, which means that most, working class cartoons are performing for each other in caberet shows that keep them alive similar to a rent party. They exchange attention, which is freely given. The other way is by following a church and getting a weekly/regular communion in the form of ink. Attention keeps you relevant, and staying that the end of the god's pen keeps you relevant. While this analogy makes less sense for muppets we'll just go with it.
